Dress Donations

Taffeta galore! Our 2011 prom season has ended. Our next community dress drives for the San Francisco Bay Area will be in mid-February 2012, but you can host your own dress drive AT ANY TIME! See our guidelines here.

In San Diego, its largest dress drive is happening on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the The Wed Club Bridal Show at the Sheraton Carlsbad. Bring your donations to the show or drop them off curbside. For details about this great event, go to: http://www.carlsbadbridalshow.com/Princess-Project.html

Can you use donations of wedding dresses or prom dresses? If so, how can I donate them?

  2. Liza says:

Hi, Just found out about the Princess Project, I have a few prom dresses I would like to donate. In excellent condition. I think this is fabulous! I live in the UK.. How can I donate them? Is there an address I can post them out to?

  3. Megan says:

Hi, I live in Santa Cruz CA and I want to donate my dress ( I was in a wedding this summer) but there is not anywhere close enough for me to drop it off. Is there somewhere that I can send my dress. Or can you let me know if there will be a donation drop off close to my area. I would like it to go to someone that will wear it, not just collect dust in my closet. Thank you.

  4. cathy says:

I have a brand new dress, tags still on that I want to donate, last year I missed the date by a week can you please notify me when you are ready to accept donations. Thank you I am located in the northbay

  5. Tiffani Hensley says:

This is such a nice thing you do! I’ve been looking for free dresses online, b/c I know I can’t afford one. I was thinking of the work I’d have to do to it before I’d be happy with it. Thank you for doing this for girls like me who can’t afford one of those 300 dollar dresses. The prom ticket itself is expensive enough!! Please let me know how I can get one of the dresses… if not from her then from some where else. I would love to go to prom this year.

    Thanks

  24. i like my girlfriend’s prom dress, it is a matte gold ball gown with lots of laces and ribbons.;’

  25. Pamela says:

It would be great if Princess Projects were able to expand or get the High Schools involved with the project. All of California’s High School Senior must complete 40 hours of community service to graduate and this would be a very interesting and personal project for the seniors to get involved with. I have many formal dresses to donate mostly small sizes, but it would also be wonderful if the United States Postal Service donated shipping to get these dresses to the donation locations! It would be great to have a box sent to your house that you place the dresses in and ship it right to Princess Projects location.
TO Veronica in denver Colorado, if you are interested in a dress please contact me with your size and maybe I have something you can use. Check out my FaceBook: http://www.facebook.com/pamelakjenkins, I am sure there is a picture or two of the dresses I have.

  42. Nancy-Lee says:

Ladies, this is for PROM. Please donate clean Prom appropriate dresses ONLY. Dresses that are in like-new condition. No stains, odors, holes….

If you have a WEDDING gown, you can donate those to http://www.BridesAgainstBreastCancer.org
Wedding gowns only. Not mother of the bride or bridesmaids.

Most Bridesmaid dresses are NOT prom appropriate and you should consider a donation to Goodwill.

Remember, this is run by volunteers, when you donate dresses that clearly a 16, 17 or 18 year old would not wear, you force a volunteer to spend their time and gas getting your gown to the right place.

  43. Trude says:

    Greetings and Happy 2012,

Do you have a drop off location in SF? THX

  44. Farmer Amy says:

  47. carolyn says:
